Müslüm ASLAN was born in 1974 in the village of Yandere, in the Nusaybin district of Mardin. He completed his primary and secondary education in Nusaybin. In the early 2000s, he served as the editor-in-chief of *Ütopya* magazine, which was published in Nusaybin and distributed throughout Turkey. His articles and poems have appeared in many magazines and newspapers. He played a leading role and took responsibility in the publication of two magazines, Dem and Nubin. Müslüm ASLAN has published six books in total: four poetry collections titled Ayna (Mirror), *Ru*, *Nefel*, and *Aram*, as well as two essay books titled *Nehirler Zindanlara Dökülür* (Rivers Pour into Prisons) and *Sizin Orada Yıldız Var mı?* (Is There a Star Where You Are?). In addition to his poetry and essays, he also writes Kurdish song lyrics.
