Over a quarter centurySince 2001
Literature,with care.
The journey that began with Şiirkolik.com continues at Edebiyatla, carried by more than a quarter century of experience: the home poetry, short fiction and essays deserve — a place to read, write and talk about them. We designed every screen with the care of a printed page, and every feature around what a writer actually needs.
We didn't design Edebiyatla like software. We designed it like a book. Every line height, every colour, every interaction was weighed against one question: does this serve the text, or steal its scene?
Highlights
Small details. A big difference.
What sets Edebiyatla apart from any other writing site are the details that know how literature is actually read and written.
Comment on the line, not just the poem
Leave your comment on the very line that stopped you, not beneath the poem. Readers show where they paused; poets see which lines resonate. Even if the poem is edited later, a comment never forgets its line.
Evening landed on my window like a bird;
I fell silent — and the words came on their own.12
I wrote a letter with no address,
Ada This is exactly where I stopped; silence has never felt so crowded.
Mümtaz: spelling and analysis in one
One assistant, two perspectives. The spell check catches spelling and punctuation slips without touching your poetic choices; the analysis reads imagery, rhythm and voice. Only you see the reports.

I think it would still choose the language of the street — only this time the street would be inside a screen.

Simplicity wasn't a style, it was courage. Today that courage costs even more.

Shall we reread the three Garip poets this week? I'm starting a reading list.

Our principles
Beautiful. Never careless.
Reading first
Generous line spacing, calm surfaces, a noise-free interface. The text takes center stage; everything else fades into the background.
Respect for craft
Every member joins after email verification and editorial approval. The quality of our community isn't an accident — it's a deliberate choice.
For everyone
Keyboard navigation, screen reader support, reduced motion, high contrast. What is beautiful should be beautiful for everyone.
Accessibility
What is beautiful should be beautiful for everyone.
So that you can read Edebiyatla with different eyes, devices and habits, the site offers the following.
Keyboard navigation
Interactive elements get a visible ring on keyboard focus, so you can move around without a mouse.
Screen readers
Pages are built with ordered headings, labelled navigation regions and named buttons.
Reduced motion
If reduced motion is turned on in your system, animations and transitions are switched off.
Higher contrast
With the system preference for more contrast, borders, focus ring and secondary text are strengthened.
Text size
Four steps from Small to Extra large, chosen in Settings.
Light and colour
Light, dark and system mode; pick the one of twenty colour schemes that suits your eyes.
Reading by listening
Poems can be listened to in recordings read by their authors; our editors listen to every recording before it goes live.
Three languages
The interface comes in Turkish, English and German; the language is chosen in Settings.
